Hi Warren,

1. In Britain, you will have a lot of free time. The best way to fill up the free time is to join organised student activities run by groups called societies in British universities. Here is a list of societies at Nottingham: http://www.su.nottingham.ac.uk/activities2/societies/. A lot of your free time will also be devoted to study, try not to be distracted in that time. If you have trouble concentrating, leave your room and work in the library.

2. The pace of life in Britain is fast, students fill their time with activities and take their commitments seriously. There is enough going on to fill up all your time so you'll need to plan how to use your time effectively and get plenty of sleep.

3. There is a bus service that goes straight from the town centre to the campus. This is the most popular. Cycling is also a popular way of getting around but make sure you are familiar with the traffic laws in Britain before riding a bike: http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/TravelAndTransport/Highwaycode/Cyclists/index.htm
